Senator Convoy is a big mouth, he has always been.
He was a big opponent to the democratisation of the Labor Party and is a liability for the Labor Party.
Bill Shorten is afraid of losing the Union pollies support and hasn't asked him to apologise to the General.

Warren Truss caught out by the orchestra pit and Albo wins conductor's prize

Warren Truss caught out by the orchestra pit and Albo wins conductor's prize

''There is significant road projects under way or announced and about
to begin for those areas,'' Truss said. ''Let's look at projects like
the Koonda Hot spur road, the Great Ocean Road, the Princes Highway
west and the Western Highway … the Australian Government has committed
$6.5 billion …''

At which point Albo - who under the previous government used
to be a one-man question time morale boosting machine - sprang to the
dispatch box, to the visible pleasure of his colleagues.

''He needs to indicate a single project in Victoria that has begun under his watch!'' he cried.

The Labor backbench chanted ''Just one! Just one!'' Everyone
began to shout. Speaker Bronwyn Bishop ejected Albanese and opposition
education spokeswoman Kate Ellis from the chamber.

Aren’t we better than this?

Aren’t we better than this?

Article by Victoria Rollison

"If Australia can’t champion progressive reforms that make our country a better place for everyone, not just a few rich people, who can? If we can’t grow a collective will to restore dignity to the impoverished, to welcome desperate families from war torn countries or places of depraved persecution, to have an economy that provides stable jobs, and not just profit, what country in the world can possibly expect to beat us to it?"

Medicare is an essential part of the Health system of Australia. Health
care to everyone without restriction. A model of Health care which is
the envy of the world.
Abbott and Co obviously very jealous of such
an incredible achievement by the Labor Party aim to destroy it and hurt
many Australians in the process.

Trade secrets: why is the US so quiet on the Trans-Pacific Partnership?

Trade secrets: why is the US so quiet on the Trans-Pacific Partnership?

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a power grab by Multi-Corporations which is being offered in total secrecy without any details of what is comprises. We must say NO to this agreement which is being pushed down our throats by insidious people with ulterior motives.

A 21st century Labor Party – our future depends on it

A 21st century Labor Party – our future depends on it

 Excellent Article by John Lord

But we need an ALP organisation that does not lock us into outdated modes of thinking, or to corporate paradigms of concentrated top-down power. We must seize the coming year to implement reforms that empower our members’ ability to obtain information and evidence, think more critically, speak more openly and act more locally.

We need an ALP that is transparent, accountable and responsive to its members and upholds Labor values and encourages the fullest participation of members in party decision-making.

Kate Ellis says . . .

Kate Ellis says . . .

- Labor’s Gonski reforms would have delivered $14.65 billion in additional funding for schools over 6 years, but Tony Abbott will now commit to only a fraction of the funding over just 4 years. – States will no longer be required to make funding co-contributions of $1 for every $2 dollars of federal money, or index their funding by 3 per cent. – Tony Abbott and Christopher Pyne plan to amend Labor’s legislation so they can give ALL States ‘no strings’ funding deals – walking away from the needs-based loadings the Gonski report said were crucial to us closing the education equity gap, and walking away from funding being linked to improved teacher standards, student outcomes and increased transparency and accountability. – The Coalition’s pledge that “you can vote Liberal or Labor and you’ll get exactly the same amount of funding for your school” is now nothing but a farce.
